SUMMER CAMP AT SCIOTO HILLS CAMP 2013



DATE:  June 17th - 22th (2nd-9th gr.)  &  June 24th - 29th (9th-12th)

TIME:  Leave church 6:45pm Monday,  Return to church 3pm Saturday

COST:  $325 each (there are multiple camper discounts, and scholarships are available thru the church) + spending money

Grades 2nd-6th  /  New Frontier Camp  /  June 17th - 22th
     This exciting camp is for junior age campers (minimum age 8) that love adventure, want to make friends, and want to learn about Jesus! From flag raising to lights out each day is jam-packed with supervised, age-appropriate activities like climbing walls, swimming, crafts, Bible quizzing, up-beat chapels and much more!  The fun is non-stop! Campers are with their counselors and cabinmates 24 hours per day.  

Grades 6th-9th  /  Alpha Camp  /  June 17th - 22th
     Designed for middle School campers, this camp is filled with fun memories, life long friendships, daily Bible study time, practical age appropriate teaching, and lively worship. Alpha campers can look forward to riding our 50 foot Goliath giant swing, flying through the air on the Avalanche zip line, cooking breakfast over the fire during their campout and more. Alpha campers stay with their cabinmates and counselors at all times, but structured free time is also incorporated into the schedule.

Grades 9th-12th  /  Revolution Camp  /  June 24th - 29th
     Want to be transformed? Want to be a revolutionary? Don't miss this week!  This Senior High camp is for students that are excited about camp, love to have fun and love to be challeged spiritually.  The mornings are filled with exciting seminars and the afternoons will consist of a variety of events ranging from high ropes adventures to sports tournaments and about everything in between! The day will conclude with an amazing time of worship and teaching in the Evening Session.

Activities include:  Swimming - Mina Caduza (Water Slide) - Blob - Paddle Boats - Minature Golf - Summitt (Climbing Wall) - Bible Quizzing - Crafts - Initative Games - Skit Night - Animal Barn - Campfire & Smores - Carpetball - Octaball - Teepee Night - Flag Raising - Pop Shop - Disc Golf - Boulder (Horizontal Climbing Wall) .... and much much more!

What to Bring to Camp
Bible / pen / notebook
Flashlight
Sleeping bag / pillow
Comfortable clothes – mainly shorts and t-shirts, couple pair of jeans for cool evenings
Extra pair of shoes
Jacket and/or sweatshirt
One-piece swimsuit / Beach towel / Beach shoes
Bath towels / Washcloth / Personal Items (soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, hairbrush) – Please only send items that are not highly valuable; although counselors encourage campers to stay organized and clean, often items are left behind or even arrive home well used.
Water bottle
Disposable Camera (optional)
ALL medications must be turned into the camp nurse upon arrival, so please MARK CLEARLY all meds in Ziploc bag with campers name and specific instructions for nurse to administer.  Do not remove medications from the original container.
Please do NOT bring any electrical equipment (i.e. cell phones, games, radios, tape / CD / MP3 players / iPods)
Please do NOT bring any snacks containing peanuts or peanut butter. Help us protect other campers with this life-threatening allergy.

Dress Code
     Camp is very casual, but very active.  Please make sure campers bring good shoes!  Also, girls must wear a one-piece swimsuit or an overlapping tankini; and please no short shorts.  Campers wearing revealing clothing will be asked to change. We recommend sending older clothes that may return home well-worn.

Extra Money
     Extra spending money is needed to purchase snacks at the Pop Shop, to buy camp t-shirts (approx $12-15), to buy a souvenir 8x10 cabin photos ($2.50), to buy a souvenir camp DVD ($8), to participate in crafts ($5-10), to play paintball (for Alpha ($5) and Revolution campers only ($15)), and to give an offering to the summer project. Please talk to your camper about how much money they will have for the week and about being a good steward of their money.  Calvary Baptist Church will also stop someplace to eat lunch on the way home from camp ($5-$10)
