Sunday Morning Service Returns!
May 17 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
We want to do our very best to honor the commands of the Lord to meet and minister together (Heb 10:23-25), and also love and care for people (1Pet 5.:2) and also honor our government (1Tim 2:1-2)… So how do we do that during this time?
1. First, we recognize that the State does NOT have the authority to tell Gods people WHEN, WHERE, or HOW they may worship. We DO however want to be sensitive to the recommendations of the State, to pray for our President & Govenor and most importantly, we want to operate in a way that serves the good of our neighbors and church family.[https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/amendment-1/, https://www.congress.gov/bill/103rd-congress/house-bill/1308, https://www.heritage.org/religious-liberty/heritage-explains/religious-freedom-whats-stake-if-we-lose-it]
2. Currently the Federal government has proposed reopening all businesses and churches on May 1st. Ohio State has proposed that on May 1st many medical procedures, May 4 Manufacturing, construction, and general office environments, May 12 Consumer and retail services
3. With consideration to these new recommendations from our Government, counsel from medical personel in our church, and much prayer – our Pastor & Deacon board have discussed and decided that we will begin gathering again here at our building in MAY 17th with the following precautions…
3.a. We advise any members who are part of the “higher risk” groups: People 65 or older & people with serious underlying medical conditions
(asthma, serious heart conditions, immunocompromised, diabetes, Kidney dialysis, liver disease) to please use you best judgment and take whatever precautions you feel are justified. WE WILL CONTINUE TO OFFER LIVESTREAMING OF SERVICES. [https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/groups-at-higher-risk.html]
3.b. For the month of May we will limit services to ONLY the 10:30am Sunday morning worship service and the 6pm Wednesday prayer service.
3.c. Extra efforts to sanitize surfaces in the church building like pews, door knobs & handles, bathrooms, nursery, toys, tables etc.
3.d. We will have “sanitation tables” at both entrances. We encourage everyone to sanitize their hands on the way IN and their way OUT.
3.e. We will NOT have our normal handshaking greeters at the doors, we will have bulletins on a table for younto pickup
3.f. We encourage members to “spread out” in terms of seating in the sanctuary. We will attempt to use EVERY OTHER pew for seating.
3.g. We will NOT have our normal greeting time after announcements
3.h. We will NOT have choir and the size of worship teams will be reduced and spread out on the platform.
3.i. We will NOT pass an offering plate. Offering plates will be on tables near the rear of the sanctuary. Please leave your tithes and offerings
there on your way in or out
3.j. We will NOT observe the Lords Table this month (We will reevaluate next month).
3.k. We encourage members as they leave to observe social distancing and not to “bunch up” in the exit line. Pastor will NOT be in the vestibule, but he will be available at the front of the church if you need to talk or to pray..
3.l. We will postpone any baptisms to later in June.
3.m. We plan to observe all these extra precautions through at least the Sundays of May 17th, 24th, 31st
4. Our leadership will continue to monitor the situation and consider all state/federal recommendations. We ask for your continued prayers & patience. Our plans are flexible and may change as the situation demands. If conditions permit we may begin more “normal” operations Sunday, June 7. This would include resuming Sunday School, Sunday evening services, choir, full worship teams, etc. At this time we still plan to follow through on our planned summer ministries (like VBS).
Thanks everyone for your understanding and we hope to see you again soon. Stay safe, and God bless!
